Sunshine is for Sale!
I am leaving the country in a week and have to let her go. So, Sunshine has been put on eBay. One lucky buyer will get to continue the legacy of Sunshine. I hope that is is someone who loves travel, maybe a band can turn her into a tour bus. Whatever happens, we have had fun with her, but must move on. Please spread the word, send the link to friends, or post it online anywhere you can. This is a very individual vehicle and it will take an individual person to make the purchase.

Sunshine Across America
Welcome to a site following my RV, the journey across America and the waste vegetable oil conversion of this 1982 Itasca Suncruiser. This Motorhome runs a Chevy 6.2L V-8 diesel motor. I have learned much through research on the topic of running and converting WVO in diesel engines. There are many options for alternative fuels, or biofuels, such as biodiesel, and waste vegetable oil. I decided that waste vegetable oil would be the most interesting conversion and process, as well as being the most inexpensive way for us to travel. Waste vegetable oil, it allows us to be "green" and not harm the environment as much as burning diesel, as well as giving us a nearly free way to fill up the tank. We have travelled over 10,000 miles, used over 1,000 gallons of veggie oil and paid $150 combined for the oil when we could not find it for free on two separate occasions. That would have cost over $3,000 if we had been driving on diesel, and emited a large amount of sulfur into our environment. Burned veggie emits nearly no sulfur into the environment and is also "Carbon Neutral", meaning that the carbon absorbed by the plants when growing is equal to the amount emitted when burned. So, do some research, convert a diesel and hop on the veggie bandwagon to start driving for cheap and help our environment at the same time.

Collection of things we have learned along the way about WVO. We are traveling over 10,000 miles in 3 months and have already made it from Florida to the furthest corner of the US, Washington. Our journey continues, and we continue to make changes and modifications to the system as we learn along the way.
Progress is all about Sunshine. What she looks like, what she has been through and how she treats us along the way.
Simple, it's about us. Who are these odd characters on this journey? We are pretty friendly, so if you see us in your town, feel free to walk up to us and start a conversation.
